Two days ago it was another balmy day in the midwest, with unseasonably warm weather and no moisture in sight. Just three nights ago, I took this same shot, click Christmas Traditions 3, and the lawn was still green.
What a difference a day makes! Last night, Mother Nature blessed us with over 8″ of wet snow. I’m very grateful for the moisture, our area is over 18″ behind its normal moisture level, and the heavy blanket of snow will protect the plants during the really cold months ahead. On days like this, I really appreciate my retirement too–not having to worry about getting into the office or juggling year-end deadlines with my survival instincts.
So, what am I doing today? While resting my back from shoveling snow, I’m on my Ipad searching the three gazillion apps for the one that makes the snow fall only on the fields and yards. There’s got to be one somewhere.
Thought for the Day: Don’t knock the weather, nine-tenths of the people couldn’t start a conversation if it didn’t change once in a while. Kin Hubbard
