I was in Minneapolis last weekend to cheer on the Husker football team against the Minnesota Gophers. After an all-night celebration of their infrequent victory (only the third out of seven attempts), I woke up on Sunday with nothing to do.
So, I hopped on the Metro Light Rail to the Minnesota University campus and found the Weisman Art Museum (“WAM”) on the bank of the Mississippi River. Wow! It wasn’t hard to find, the architecture jumps up and screams at you.
The inside is more traditional — quiet, calming and spacious. You flow freely from one gallery to the next without even knowing it. WAM is very well done, and well worth the price of admission … free.
