Symmetry

I found downtown Minneapolis to be a wonderful mix of old and new, embracing the future, while honoring the past.  One-way streets through canyons of skyscrapers made of  stainless steel and reflecting glass.   A light rail mass transit system flowing right through the middle of the old Warehouse District.  Massive old buildings from the late 1800s, still in use, reflecting the early history of lumber and flour mills stand in the midst of fast-paced modern business, night clubs and trendy restaurants.

The shot above attempted to find perfect symmetry inside this atrium along the downtown skywalk.  After several attempts, I believe the inside of the atrium is pretty close to “perfect”.   The building on the outside is skewed slightly to one side, but I couldn’t do anything about that and still have the two lights in the atrium equally spaced.

Do the best you can with what you have to work with.

Thought for the Day:   Look at all those big … tall … buildings.                                                                                                                                                Line from “Midnight Cowboy”
