I don’t particularly care for cemeteries, the reminder of the end game, the final chapter, the dark side of life.  But, cemeteries are a fact of life, and the national cemeteries have a special meaning to me on this day, July 4th of every year.

Some grave sites are beautifully decorated by family and loved ones, some graves are long forgotten, and some were never known … except to God.  A sobering thought.

This year we celebrate 240 years since the Declaration of Independence.  Before the celebration begins, stop for a moment to thank all those who gave their lives to make this day possible.

Thought for the Day:  Our cause is noble; it is the cause of mankind!    George Washington
