Donald Trump, the GOP’s presumptive nominee for president, showed up in the Independence Day parade in Cedar Creek, NE. Riding in the back of an unadorned black pickup truck, he was in stark contrast to the other festive, red-white-blue entrants. (shown at left)
The bombastic, egotistical, self-promoting Trump drew lots of chuckles, claps, boos and water balloons from the crowd. Trump’s appearance was a surprise, but he didn’t steal the show.
Hillary Clinton, the presumptive nominee for the Democratic party would probably have received a similar reception. This is the heartland of America, where character counts; too bad neither candidate has much to show in that category.
Thought for the Day: Character is like a tree, and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing. Abraham Lincoln

So sad. Who would have thought this is what weâd have to choose from. Pick the best of two evils.
Have a great day!
