Tallin, Estonia

Rainy Day in Tallin

I loved Tallin’s old town, teeming with history and Old World charm, even in the rain.

The city first showed up on maps in 1154, but early settlements date back 5,000 years.  It is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Although it is Estonia’s largest city and capital, the population is less than 500,000.  It has very impressive commercial credentials: birthplace of many international companies, like Skype, most business startups per capita in Europe, and listed in the top ten digital countries in the world.

Thought for the DayThough she be but little, she is fierce.                        Shakespeare
