Problem Solved

Queen-Size Box Springs

I know a guy that solved a common problem in an unusual way.  He had a queen-sized box spring that wouldn’t fit in his brand new two-story house.

Installing the mattress was no problem, but the box springs couldn’t make the tight corner at the top of the stairs.  He sawed the wooden slats on the bottom and folded the box springs in half to easily negotiate the tight corner.  Once inside the bedroom,  he unfolded the box springs and nailed a strip of plywood along the saw cut to make it lie flat again.  For additional support, he placed two heavy angle-irons across the bed frame for the box springs to rest on.   It lasted over 40 years.  No problem.

What a guy!
