I was sitting on the porch of an old country store in Wawona, CA … southwest area of Yosemite National Park. An old pay phone attracted two young girls.
They knew it was a telephone, but unsure of its features. The receiver cord was a bit annoying to the would-be caller. The receiver’s cradle unique, and designated places for the ear and mouth was bizarre. The big mystery was the coin slot.
WHAT?! Put money in a telephone? Are we in the Twilight Zone?
Thought for the Day: They will never experience the joy of slamming down a telephone’s receiver.
Good one.
