On a bright sunny day in Central Florida, Coquina Beach on Anna Maria Island was deserted. Not a soul, not even a walker, let alone sun bathers.
Wow, I had the beach to myself. I stepped out beyond the sand dunes into the open expanse of beach … and got smacked upside the head with the reason I was alone. Only dumb tourists want to walk the beach in gale force winds. Duh.
I wasn’t exactly alone; I found the sea gulls huddled together down by the shore line. Except for their feathers ruffling in the wind, they were motionless, with their heads tucked under a wing or facing backwards as low as possible.
Thought for the Day: Among mortals, second thoughts are wisest. Euripides
