The cemetery path was bordered on the left by a fence with questionable durability. Strong brick pillars connected by an aging woven stick fence made me wonder just what was being kept inside … or attempting to keep out.
Beyond the mysterious fence was a solid brick wall showing signs of its age. Attempting to stand straight, still proud to be of service, it was listing noticeably; before long it will collapse in a heap upon the path. The right side of the path was bordered by tombstones, many of which were listing in the same manner as the brick wall.
Long shadows of the tombstones were reminders to stay on the “straight and narrow” path of life.
