Off to Work

Montmartre is an area on a large hill overlooking Paris, primarily known for its artistic history. During the late 1800’s and early 1900’s many artists lived and worked in the area, with several becoming famous: Degas, Monet, Picasso, Renoir and Van Gogh.

It remains a magnet for artists today. The city park is filled with artists’ booths working their craft and selling their wares. The narrow winding streets filled with small shops and galleries make for a delightful experience.

Thought for the Day: Painting is a faith, and it imposes the duty to disregard public opinion.
Vincent Van Gogh
