Cat’s Eye
This photo reminded me of playing marbles as a kid. Marbles weren’t that big of a deal in my childhood; Scouts, sports, board games and bike-rides were more fun than shooting marbles in the dirt.
Marbles were popular when my dad was a kid (1920’s). My entire “collection” came from him, and they all fit in a 1/2 lb. coffee can. There were different types of marbles: purees, shooters, boulders and, of course cats-eye. Cats-eye were the newest marble and the most popular for their pure colored glass with a curved “strip” that looked like a cat’s pupil.
What a simple time.
Thought for the Day: The hardest job kids face today is learning good manners without seeing any.
