The winter solstice, shortest day of the year, is on December 21st, at the height of the Christmas celebrations. Too many things are going on to notice how short the days are.
Now that the holidays are behind us we soon realize how short the days are, how frigid they are and how far away we are from more sunlight and milder weather, i.e. Spring. Uggh!
At this latitude (Omaha, Nebraska), there was only 7 hours and 43 minutes of daylight on December 21st.
Thought for the Day: Instead of cursing the dark, light a candle.
