The famous mermaid sculpture sitting on a rock near the shore in Copenhagen was created by Edvard Eriksen in 1913. It was inspired by the Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale, “The Little Mermaid”.
The title word, “Little”, is appropriate as it only stands a smidgen over 4 feet. It is one of the cities top tourist attractions.
