Sanibel Seascape

Sanibel Island is due west of Fort Meyers on the Gulf side of Florida’s coast. A beautiful place!

There is a wide expanse of native plants that separate man-made development (neighborhoods, highways, etc.) from the beachhead. Shown in this photo are Dune Sunflowers, Sea Grape, and Sea Oats.

There are many sandy trails through the vegetation to the wide beaches of Sanibel. Leave your machete at home.
