Choke Cherries are aptly named. Fresh off the “vine”, they are a “Wake-Up!” Their flavor is sharp and long-lasting as it sticks in the back of your throat. But, I thought they might mellow over the years and make a decent wine.
WRONG!
While the clarity is excellent, the color is uninviting. The aroma was not offensive, but like the other homemade wines, just nonexistent. Finally, the finish was similar to the fresh fruit — scratchy, like a hacksaw blade.
