Drought

The long, hot and dry summer is taking its toll on the Lake’s water level. The lake is less than a mile from the Platte River, and the water level in the Platte controls the water level of this lake. It has been especially dry this summer.

Over the long run, I don’t expect the lake to dry up — the Platte River has been flowing for centuries. But, right now, the lake is not very attractive.

Take the good with the bad.

Thought for the Day: The optimist sees the rose and not its thorns. The pessimist stares at the thorns, oblivious to the rose.

Khalil Gibran
