Mid-morning, with sunshine filtering through the scattered clouds, this shot was taken near Grant, NE. I was on a county road about ten miles north of Grant, working my way to the “elbow” of the Nebraska panhandle; i.e. the NE corner of Colorado. The aging hulk of this combine, with its elephantine head and trunk, caught my eye.
The dark areas in the tawny-colored wheat field reminded me of waves coming to shore. What the heck, I thought, I haven’t seen a tree in miles so this combine will have to do for a “point of interest”. The waves of grain in the foreground, combine in the middle and interesting sky as a background provided some depth to the image, and all came together to make a decent composition.
Just another day in paradise.
Thought for the Day: If you fall, I’ll be there. Floor
