Northville, MI, is a quaint little town (relatively speaking) northeast of Ann Arbor and due west of Detroit.  The “downtown” is no more than 2-3 blocks in any direction from the epicenter.  What makes the town most interesting is the charming residential neighborhoods, with Victorian style homes built in the early 1900’s.

Every home is different and very well maintained, lots of ginger bread and unique trim on every house.  The area attracts high income residents that buy an old house, knock it down, and rebuild it to look exactly the same on the outside, but with large rooms and modern conveniences inside.

Halloween is celebrated by the entire community.  Retailers dress up skeletons outside their shops; even banks and law offices participate.  Over 100 skeletons were on display this year.  The residents support this endeavor with elaborate house displays of their own, some with skeletons and some with live entertainment, like family skits or music.    Trick or Treat!

Thought for the Day:  From ghoulies and ghosties and long leggety beasties and things that go bump in the night, Good Lord, deliver us!    Scottish Saying
