Beaver Dams

Beaver Dam
Beaver Dam

Busy as a beaver?  That’s how the saying goes, but here’s an example of how a beaver took the easy way out.

This cabin was built close to a mountain stream near the Taos Ski Resort.  Beavers chose a nearby spot to dam up the stream, but as the stream backed up it became wider and wider, eventually flowing around the dam.   The beavers then incorporated the cabin into their dam to block off the ever-widening stream.

Pretty clever.  Damn beavers!

Thought for the Day:      Gee, Wally.  That’s swell!                                                                                                                        Theodore “Beaver” Cleaver
