
Thanksgiving, a time to reflect on all of the good things in your life, a time to give thanks for all of your blessings.
This pelican was one of six that was rescued from the Gulf oil spill and adopted by the Henry Doorly Zoo. They are kept at the Zoo’s Safari Park, where this picture was taken. I don’t know if this pelican can appreciate how lucky he (she?) is, snatched from the oil- smothered waters of the Gulf by caring people who tenderly cleaned and nursed him back to good health. On the other hand, he probably doesn’t waste a lot of time complaining about how tough things are. Hmmmm.
